Retrieving chat logs

This chat hosting site/service is open to all (No private channels) and the users are aware that this is open public access site, that there should not be any text in the logs that the users should be worried about others viewing. Because of this fact, I am able to provide access to the chat logs via RSS.

There is an English language profanity filter in place within the chat sessions, so it should be relatively safe to post/use the content of the RSS feed on other sites. However just to cover my a** I am going to state that I am NOT responsible for and/or NOT liable for any content others place on this site and even though I have made efforts to filter bad content, there are NO guarantee of its effectiveness.

To access the chat logs using RSS you use a URL something like the following:

http://www.opendiscussion.ca/RSS/chatlog=site+name,channel+name,user+name

[ Want a chat site of your own hosted here? Contact the webmaster. ]

After the 'chatlog=' you have three parameters separated by commas and they are as follows:

Site name -  The title of the chat site. If it exists, it will send the contents of the default channel of the chat site in RSS format. If you get this parameter wrong, it will return an error message that it can't find the chat log.
Channel -  This allows you to choose a different chat channel to output in RSS. If the channel does not exist or is empty it will display an empty feed.
Nick -  This allows you to further narrow down the feed to chat content from a single nick. If the nick does not exist or has no content in the chosen site or channel it will display an empty feed.

The entire URL is case sensitive and if there are spaces in any of the names use '+' in place of the space. Last but not least do not add any spaces before or after the ',' that separates the site, channel, nick names.
